ALSO, one comment about battery life.
I can listen to podcasts or music for nearly three hours continuously.
I can use the phone fuction or browse for only an hour and a half.
I can text pretty much all day during work.
On any given day I remove the phone from the iMac at 6:00am and have to charge it again around 4:00pm.
But must charge the phone twice or three times a day if listening to music or browsing.

Nice review but you should update it with your changing opinions as your time with the phone goes on.
I have had mine since July and it has already been replaced once by sprint. The phone definitely has some ugly issues but over all it is a good phone and an affordable one at that. The OS is a good interface but It is missing some key functions and development is painfully slow at this point. This phone costs me fully $60 less per month than my iPhone (both on the lowest plans) and I have nearly as much functionality.
Bottom line, it is a good value!
OBTW: resetting the Palm Pre is accomplished by holding the power button down and sliding the ringer lock back and forth 6 times. In fact, Palm DOES NOT recommend removing the battery at all.

Overall I think its a very good phone and havent had any issues but in my experience the battery life is absolutely terrible right out of the box. I need to charge it at least 2x per day with extremely minimal use of the pre. It would be nice to get a video recorder on it for convenience sake too. Happy Thanksgiving all

First of all, thanks for your review. My review on my web site echos many of your pros/cons, especially cursor manipulation. I couldn't believe it could be that bad, but it is.

As for the iPod Touch - me too. Mine's been spending more time on the desk and less time traveling with me since I purchased a Pre. There is one program I can't live without: FileMaker Pro. I spend lots of time in that program. Bento (FM Pro Jr.) now has an iPhone app - Bento for iPhone/iPod Touch, that may keep me using my iPod Touch a lot more.

One killer app that I didn't see you mention is Evernote. I use it a lot, and they did write it for the Pre. Very cool.
