You may have seen my post last week about how Firefox 3 was making my MBP run about 10 to 15 degrees hotter than with Safari. Well, on Wednesday, Mozilla released its Firefox 3.0.1 update, and I just noticed that my MBP is running somewhat cooler than before the update. It’s only a couple of degrees higher than what I usually get from Safari. A quick glance at the release notes doesn’t reveal to me any obvious fixes that would have caused the drop in temperature, but whatever it was: Thanks, Mozilla! My lap appreciates...

So, I really do love Firefox 3. I was an avid user of Firefox 2 as well. However, I seem to be stuck in a never ending battle with myself in deciding between Firefox and Safari. Some time ago, I decided to give up the fight and just not decide. I just use whatever the heck I feel like using on any particular day. There’s plenty to be said, pro and con, for each application. Basically, you know the arguments already: Safari = fast, elegant, simple; Firefox = highly extensible, powerful, personalizeable, etc.
